| Awaken Your Inner Musician |
| Stuart Fuchs & Darcy Dyll |
Four weeks -- Saturdays April 26 and May 3, 10, & 17 @ 12:30 - 2 pm |
By applying the principles of yoga and mindfulness, we will explore music improvisation and sound making for fun, health, and well being. No yoga nor musical experience is required — this class is open to both novice and experienced musicians and yogis alike.
Each session will begin with yoga-based exercises led by Darcy Dyll of Buffalo Yoga intended to relax participants as well as open the group to the creative process. Stuart Fuchs, of Babik (winner of best jazz band by Artvoice and Buffalo Spree for two years in a row) and a certified Music For People facilitator, will then lead a musical process that is creative, playful and nurturing. And really, no musical experience is necessary!
Participants are encouraged to bring their own instrument... guitar, drum, percussion, trumpet, or just yourself!

| The Yoga of Sound |
| Saturday, June 7 @ 10 am - 1 pm |
| Bhakti Yoga is the expression of one’s love and devotion for the Divine mystery. The principle practice of bhakti yoga is kirtan, a sacred and ancient practice in which mantras and music are used together to call out lovingly and enthusiastically to the many faces of God. It is often simply called “devotional chanting”. This workshop is a joyful exploration into the art of kirtan. We will delve into the healing power of mantras, the opening of the chakras through sound, chanting as meditation, and the teachings of the saints and scriptures on the nature of Love as a spiritual path. Join David for an inspiring journey of mind opening ideas and heart opening practices.
